DRIFT: The Elements

These digital animations drift across subway platforms on the Onestop Network of TTC screens, without interruption from the usual news and advertisements for 12 hours, beginning at 7pm on October 1st, 2011, for Scotiabank Nuit Blanche.

DRIFT: the elements examines the essential elements of life: earth, wind, fire and water. Six artists explore their own personal interpretation of these fundamental life-giving elements in newly commissioned animations that take on this theme, with a focus on abstraction and experimentation. Animations by Claire Bennett, Evan DeRushie & Hercinia Arts Collective, John Halfpenny, Craig Marshall, Heather Harkins, and Lynn Wilton.

Presented by the Toronto Animated Image Society, Onestop Media Group and Art for Commuters. Click here to watch the animations.
